about the author, traci grant.

From the time she was a snarl-haired little girl dragging her Mrs. Beasley doll everywhere she went, her imagination was her best friend. So much so, in fact, her older brother and sister used to complain that she wouldn’t talk or play with them because she was otherwise engaged with her imaginary friends.

If there’s one thing she’s good at, it’s telling a story.

It’s no wonder Traci grew up to write.

After earning a B.A. in English from the University of Washington, she was faced with the tough choice of teaching or going to law school. Ultimately, her love of learning and school won out, and since then, she’s spent her entire career in education. Starting out as a high school English teacher gave Traci the time to balance her dedication to her family and pursue what she loved. After earning a M.Ed., Traci moved into higher education to teach writing.

From there, she has migrated to Northwest University, where she is now the Director of Academic Success and Advising. Recently, after a university presentation, Traci’s boss said to her, “you’re an excellent public speaker. When I grow up, I hope I’m as good of a public speaker as you are.”

When Traci isn’t writing or working with college students, she loves spending time with her husband, Vince, of 35 years and her three adult children, Emilie, Carly, and Cole and their spouses, Levi and Stephanie. Together they enjoy hiking, kayaking, wake surfing, skiing, snowshoeing, pickle ball, and their collective and eclectic group of dogs.

Traci loves learning about people, but what gives her the greatest sense of wonderment is discovering God more deeply through the beauty, resilience, intricacies, and consistencies of creation.

Her deepest desire is that this sense of wonder would be captured and expressed through the words articulated in her writing, and a sense of who God is would shine through.
